Controlling Parcel-A case — 9 October 2026. The family’s established title case is that the 1877 arrangement took effect in 1928, passing the full Parcel A to the Williams family: farmhouse/buildings, barn, stable and yard west of the house, garden, forest north and ground south-east later registered as VG41. Parcel B is the separate eastern agricultural fields. The 1939 agreement/plan is already held and depicts Parcel B only. Mary (Nancy) Williams’s c.1974 statement records the papers going missing in 1950–52 (Mary (Nancy) Williams testimony). [SOURCE PENDING] The 1949 permissive-occupancy attempt failed, and WGR’s 4 July 1955 enforcement of Parcel B also seized the Parcel-A north forest and south-east green under “whole farm” wording. Mary’s defence of the remaining occupied house group was not the limit of her title claim. Legal and registration issues are therefore being reassessed against this full scope, with fraud remaining contingent on specific evidence.
Master issue index: 87 scrutiny issues
The family’s concerns reach well beyond the 1982–87 registration and court sequence. The Master Scrutiny Issue Register consolidates 73 issues recorded to 26 September 2026 (A-001 to A-073), the planning issues PL-001 to PL-015, and 14 issues added on 6 October 2026 (A-074 to A-087).
- Title and registration: parcel extent, notice and actual occupation, missing root documents, title plans, two live titles, the 1983 farmhouse-title correspondence, the 1987 amalgamation and the 2005 woodland extent change.
- Court and process: the 1955 and 1962 orders, the 1974 notice issue and adjourned ownership action, the scope of BP v Buckler, estoppel and new evidence, limitation, reopening and statutory registration remedies.
- Public and institutional handling: Cadw, RCAHMW, GGAT/Heneb, planning, archaeology, TNA, disclosure, missing records, witness attrition, delayed disclosure and the question of undisclosed communications between public bodies.

The case for reopening. The family’s fraud, concealment and limitation case is set out in The Family’s Case: Fraud, Concealment and Limitation →. The routes to reopening, and what each needs, are in the Legal Review.
Central procedural chronology
| 1982–83 | HM Land Registry first registered Great House Farm land to BP while the family was living on it. There is no evidence that the family was given an effective opportunity to object before the registration was completed. |
| 23 February 1983 | BP’s solicitors applied for WA240304, the title that the 1987 judgment ties to the farmhouse and garden, registered on the May 1975 conveyance. They certified that there was no question or doubt affecting title, although Mary (Nancy) Williams’s 1974 ownership plea had never been decided (A-074). |
| 26 March 1983 | Mary (Nancy) Williams died at the farmhouse. [SOURCE PENDING] Notice of the registration reached the family only after her death, while it was in mourning. The WA240304 file holds correspondence dated 8 and 12 April 1983, which the family is ordering. |
| 10 and 24 July 1986 | The High Court heard the possession case on 10 July 1986 and gave judgment on 24 July 1986 (Court of Appeal judgment; South Wales Echo, 25 July 1986, p.3 — PRESS REPORT), while the title was still split across two registered titles. The reported appellate result concerned possession/limitation and the 1974 letters. Do not reduce it to a categorical finding that the full Parcel-A title was never raised; identify the precise property and issues from the pleadings and judgment. |
| 2 February 1987 | HM Land Registry’s records show an application of 2 February 1987 to amalgamate the titles, made while the Court of Appeal case was still live. It folded the house parcel into BP’s main title before the appeal was decided. |
| 1987 appeal | The Court of Appeal decided the possession and limitation appeal. It never examined the documentary root of the farmhouse parcel. |
How to read this branch
- Documented fact: supported by a primary record or reliable institutional record held in the Evidence Library.
- Testimony: a named family member’s recorded statement, linked to their page under Testimony (https://greathousefarmwiki.wordpress.com/testimony/); privately held documents are cited by their evidence ID.
- Source pending: no document or identified speaker yet.
- Issue / inference: what follows from comparing the records, for the body responsible to answer.
- Allegation: an alleged act of fraud or concealment, with the evidence for it and the evidence still being recovered.

Core distinction: an administrative registration, a court judgment, a possession order, a later amalgamation of titles and a subsequent transfer are different acts. The Wiki tracks each act on its own evidence and places them all on the Master Timeline. This is how the house parcel came to be swept into the whole farm: each step relied on the one before it, and none of them examined the house parcel’s own title.
