Chronology and catalogue links — assessed 10-10-2026: Use the Institutional Involvement Roadmap (1877–2026) for the date-ordered institution/people/evidence sequence. The reported 1988 Cadw-to-Minister spot-listing letter has its own catalogue placeholder at GHF-E152; the original has not been attached to that page as at 10-10-2026. A placeholder records an evidence gap; it does not establish the letter’s contents or misconduct.

Forensic Assessment — RCAHMW

Scope: Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales as the principal architectural/heritage record custodian.

Established role

RCAHMW holds the H. J. Thomas survey material for Great House Farm, including a 1974 architectural survey/floor plan documenting a sub-medieval/late-seventeenth-century building, and related photographic/record evidence.

Forensic control test

Determine what RCAHMW held by 1988, what was made available to Cadw, whether the demolition was notified, and what further photographic or survey records survive. A statement that an item exists today does not by itself prove who saw it in 1988.

Current finding

As at 10-10-2026, the material reviewed does not establish wrongdoing by RCAHMW. This is not a finding that RCAHMW had no involvement; the page addresses the particular custody and heritage-record questions identified. The key issue is whether surviving survey material can prove what heritage information was available to decision-makers before demolition.

Human action

Order the identified free scans, capture metadata and establish the 1988 availability/communication trail. Compare the 1974 survey against Cadw’s 1988 assessment.

Acceptance: survey, plan, photos and 1988 availability evidence are catalogued and linked to the Cadw control point.

Coverage rule: this is a chronological navigation map of published Wiki source pages found by searching the current site index for “RCAHMW”. Every event label links directly to the page containing the source. It avoids duplicating source narratives. It records mention/appearance, not culpability. Dates are transcribed from page titles where available; “Date not explicit in title” means the linked source must be consulted. Search indexing is a discovery aid, not proof of exhaustive external coverage. 🕒10-10-2026
