Evidence

  • SOURCE PENDING: an HMLR notification is reported to have arrived after Mary (Nancy) Williams’s death; no named family member’s statement of it is yet on the wiki. The corrected date used on this Wiki is 26 March 1983.
  • GHF-E180: placeholder for the reported letter. The original has not been produced on this page.
  • GHF-E158, E161, E162, and Land Registry Titles: registration context.

Description

The reported letter, addressee, title reference, dispatch date, receipt date, envelope/postmark, service record and applicable objection or appeal deadline have not been verified from the original documents.

Interpretation

The alleged late notification remains SOURCE PENDING and a record-retrieval lead. The available register chronology does not establish when a notice was sent or received, whether a deadline had expired, or whether HMLR deliberately withheld notice. The letter and registration/service file are needed before those conclusions can be drawn.

Added 15 October 2026 — keep notice and title as separate issues: the reported post-death notification remains a family-evidence lead until the original notice and service record are produced. It does not, by itself, establish a mistake in the underlying title. The separate substantive question—what conveyancing evidence supported registration of the farmhouse-and-garden parcel under WA240304—is analysed at 1983 First Registration: Parcel A Title Basis and Alleged HMLR Mistake. The two lines of enquiry should be pursued together but not conflated.

For the wider Cedwyn Estate working hypothesis, see Cedwyn Estate Working Theory. This page is not, by itself, proof of that hypothesis.

New evidence, 20 October 2026

New evidence catalogued on the Legal Wiki on 20 October 2026 that bears on this page. Each linked page gives the source, what it fits and what cuts against it.

  • EV-0265 — Registration background: compulsory registration of title began in the Vale of Glamorgan on 1 December 1975 (SI 1975/160); the solicitor’s certificate on first registration (LRR 1925 r.29; 1989 text); the HMLR “about to be registered” Gazette notices ran only to about May 1975 (LEGISLATION AND GUIDANCE (read))

Our case, prospective. Not a finding of any court.
